About Us

Fact 1 – Did you know?

We meet every Friday from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm

Fact 2 – Did you know?

We have 50 Scouts in our troop aged from 10 to 14 years. Click for bigger image

We have 7 patrols – Stag, Fox, Cobra, Wolf, Buffalo, Hawk and Tiger.

Each patrol has its own Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader.

Fact 3 – Did you know?

At Scouts you will learn loads of new and useful skills such as how to use an axe and bow saw to prepare your firewood; how to light fires and cook using as little equipment as possible; how to build all sorts of things fromClick for bigger image small catapults to big structures such as swings from ropes and poles (pioneering); perhaps you will go camping, climbing abseiling, kayaking, hiking.

Perhaps you would like to join in our gang show at the Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford or help with car parking at a fundraising event – the possibilities are endless - it’s up to you…

One thing is certain – you will make lots of new friends and YOU WILL HAVE FUN!

Fact 4 – Did you know?

At Scouts you can work towards lots of awards.

There are 70 activity badges, 6 staged activity badges and 8 challenge badges.

Chief Scouts Gold AwardThe top award you can achieve at Scouts is the Chief Scouts Gold Award.

For this you need to complete the Outdoor Challenge, plus at least four of the remaining Challenges, plus a personal challenge.

Fact 5 – Did you know?

Scouts LOVE to go camping, on 29th July this year we will go to Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre near Sheffield for a 6 day camp where we will be celebrating 100 years of Scouting. Click for bigger image

We will be sleeping in tents, cooking on fires, kayaking, abseiling, orienteering, climbing, going for a hike around Ladybower Reservoir, driving fun buggies, building bivouacs to sleep in amongst the trees and loads more.

On this camp, we will be thinking about Scouts from other countries.

Fact 6 – Did you know?

There are Scouts in nearly every country all over the world – all doing similar things – all having fun!

Fact 7 – Did you know?

At Eccleshall, we are very lucky to have links with Madla Speidergruppe in Norway and last year we visited them for a 12 day camp.Click for bigger image

The Norway Group arrive at the top of Prekistolen (Pulpit Rock) 600m above the fjord below. You could see for miles!

We also have a special link with Scouts from Melbourne in Derbyshire and regularly meet with them.
