Celebrate 100 years of Scouting

2007 is our Centenary Year

2007 is the Centenary Year for Scouting – 100 years of fun, excitement, adventure and achievement for literally millions of young people throughout the world, many of whom have become famous for their exploits – Scouts have walked on the moon, become Prime Minister, England football captain and own an airline etc.

In 2007 there are over 28 million Scouts in virtually every country in the world and in August this year over 44,000 Scouts from virtually all these countries will gather together at Highlands Park in Essex for the 2007 World Jamboree with a theme of ‘One World One Promise’ for all faiths and culture.

There will be many local celebratory events around the world with 1st Eccleshall Scouts planning a Sunrise Camp which is taking place between 29th July 2007 and 3rd August 2007 at Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre

On Wednesday 1st August, 2007 at 8 am local time, Scouts past and present throughout the world will renew the Scout Promise.

The camp is intended to give a broad experience to all and will be attended by members of the Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.
